Steve is a building surveyor and dispute resolution consultant. Steve has been a pioneer of building surveying and remediation practice in New Zealand, having been investigating building defects since 1997. As the building crisis of 2002 evolved he investigated and remediated many houses, apartment buildings, schools and institutional buildings. Steve has assisted as expert witness in over 700 building failure disputes including providing evidence in the District and High Courts.

Most disputes are settled in mediation and Steve has attended more mediations than other experts in New Zealand. Steve is a Fellow of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute and is on the AMINZ arbitration, mediation and adjudication panels. He has adjudicated many disputes and has been a court appointed expert.

 

Now working mainly in alternative dispute resolution he offers a range of dispute resolution services so that solutions can be “right sized” and cost effective including,

Qualifications and Experience

1.1 My qualifications include the following:

(a) New Zealand Certificate in Building.

(b) Diploma in Business Studies (Dispute Resolution).

(c) Fellow Arbitrator’s & Mediator’s Institute of New Zealand Inc. (FAMINZ)

(d) Licenced Building Practitioner Design Level 3.

(e) Admitted to AMINZ panels for;

· Adjudication.

· Arbitration.

· Mediation.
